Company History

Swift Computers, Inc. was chartered as a Texas Corporation in 1977. Originally located in Dallas, Texas, Swift moved to the Houston area in 1986 to be closer to one of its principal customers. Swift is presently located in Stafford, Texas, a suburb of Houston.

Initially established as a computer dealership, the Company has evolved into an innovative design and development firm with a strong focus on intuitive user interfaces. Over the years, the Company has developed

  • CRT Touch Screens for Utility Dispatchers
  • Dispatcher Communication Consoles that can be learned in less than an hour
  • A fundamentally new way to record and recover conversations from trunked radio systems

    Carl J. Swift, the President and founder of the Company, has been granted two US Patents, four international patents, and there are 18 international patents pending on the recording system.

    A commercial version of the recording system was introduced in 1996 as the SmartSTOR® Logging Recorder for Trunked Radio. Subsequently, the name was changed to SwiftSTOR® Logging Recorder for Trunked Radio. In early 2001 a second generation of the recording system was introduced. This new generation product is so substantially enhanced, it has been given a new name, the SwiftSTOR® II Communications Recovery System.

    Swift has a commitment to product quality and a policy of continuous product improvment. Occassionally the improvement is so great, the product deserves a new name. The recently released SwiftSTOR® II Communication Recovery System is expected to further enhance Swift's reputation as an innovative supplier of easy-to-use solutions for communications recording.
